Call for Papers: 2017 SARA Annual Conference

The Society of Amateur Radio Astronomers (SARA) solicits papers for presentation at its 2019 Annual Conference to be held 4 Aug-7 Aug 20189. Sunday 4 Aug, will start with an introduction to Radio Astronomy at the Jansky Auditorium, followed by learning to operate the forty foot radio telescope - 1,420 MHz (21 cm).

 

Presentations by SARA members and guests are scheduled on Monday and Tuesday.  A tour of the GBT and High Tech tour of the NRAO facility will be conducted Tuesday 6 Aug in the afternoon and Wednesday 7 Aug in the morning.

 

Papers are welcome on subjects directly related to radio astronomy including hardware, software, education and tutorials, research strategies, observations and data collection and philosophy. SARA members and supporters wishing to present a paper should email a letter of intent, including a proposed title and abstract to the conference coordinator at vicepresident_at_radio‐astronomy_dot_org no later than 1 June 2019.

 

Drafts of papers are due 15 June and final versions of the papers due no later than 25 May. Be sure to include your full name, affiliation, postal address, email address, and indicate your willingness to attend the conference to present your paper. Submitters will receive an email response, typically within one week.
